Dickson Odini Mentorship
Helping beginners build structure, accountability, and real-world skills.
Why I'm Doing This
A genuine commitment to give back to the same kind of community that helped me take my first steps.
Not too long ago, I was standing right at the beginning of this journey. Transitioning from years in frontline healthcare into digital product creation felt both exciting and intimidating. One of the earliest places that sparked my passion for UI/UX was a design community on WhatsApp. Seeing peers share ideas, critique interfaces, and help one another navigate the craft opened a door that changed the entire trajectory of my life.
As I’ve continued learning, building software, and solving real-world product challenges, I’ve kept thinking about how I can give back to people who are currently where I was when I first started.
I am not presenting myself as an expert who has mastered everything. The mentorship is about sharing what I have learned so far with people who are a few steps behind me, while continuing to learn and grow myself. For this first cohort, I am taking on 2–3 beginner UI/UX and product design learners for an 8–10 week programme focused on structure, accountability, practical work, and honest feedback.
"This won't be a traditional course, and I definitely don't claim to know everything — I'm still learning and building every day myself. The idea is simply to use what I've learned so far to help someone a few steps behind me, while continuing to grow together."
